Welcome to the Uitmarkt 2013
The Uitmarkt is the national opening of the cultural season and the largest cultural festival in the Netherlands. Over the years, the Uitmarkt has evolved into a festival attracting 500,000 visitors and featuring 2,000 performers at more than 30 venues. And it's all free!
This year, the Uitmarkt takes place at Museumplein and Leidseplein. Performances will be held at numerous theatres, museums and venues near these two primary locations. A wealth of information is available at stands on Museumplein and the Hobbemastraat will host a book market.
De Krakeling Youth Theatre is home to the Uitmarkt Junior this year, with a varied programme especially designed for the young and young at heart. Alongside child-friendly performances, street theatre and movies, a host of workshops and activities are also on the menu with the emphasis firmly placed on getting involved.
Head to the Uitmarkt from Friday, 30 August to Sunday, 1 September 2013 in the cultural heart of Amsterdam to discover the cultural wealth of the Netherlands!
The Amsterdam Uitburo's International Service Point is located on Museumplein, near the Van Gogh Museum. Here you'll find all you need to know about the festival. Ask for the English-language guide to the Uitmarkt.
